^Thanks, Eric. I saw them in 1983(?) at Brenden Byrne Arena, NJ. (the Meadowlands) Was a great show. The Mrs. and I may go to see them in August at Penns Peak, Jim Thorpe, Pa. Not sure as to what they'll be like w/ out Dennis DeYoung, but maybe we'll see.

Hey 308 (Eric told me to drop by) I tell ya I do miss playin in your guys 2142 Server. Im not sure why it seems that most if not all havnt started to enjoy BC2. I know that I struggled to adapting at first, Id actually suggest trying RUSH, before moving onto Conquest. I know some servers get so evenly matched that its hard to make progress, but thats not usually the norm.
I plan to add your server to favorites, and hope to see you all playing! Some vacation time to enjoy some night games even, commn up too.

Well, this is my main band, Capgras Delusion. We've been working on this instrumental song for a little while, and I recorded this with my Zoom Q3HD. Admittedly it's a big, solo trading, show-offy song that we can play at a Battle of the Bands competition later this month. Any and all comments are welcome; I'm especially interested to know of any free software programs where I could mix and control some effects/EQ and whatnot.

my first time gigging outside of a school event! our singer/keyboardist learned the song (and wrote the lyrics) not more than a week before this show, and this was his trial run. he's the best singer we've played with, so he'll stick around. for those wondering, this battle of the bands competition has three rounds and this was the first. we were selected to move on to the next one in august. the grand prize is $1,000. pretty cool! anyways, check it out in HD :D

I caught the last 3 hours worth on the TV, and it was some of the best stuff I've seen. The "sweet jane" was one of the weaker entries that was played. Had to many stars to list.

Well. Its that time of year again. 22 years ago today, the chopper went down. The anniversery kinda snuck up on me this year, but not w/out a few ironic memories that popped up the last few weeks. I was a huge fan of the music, and had an appreciation for his ability to morph what he picked up from Jimi (and others) and created something of his own. Along side the obvious (his music) I was one of a lucky few, that got to see a different side of "the star". I was one of maybe 15-20 people, that got to hear Stevie "tell his story" one night in Dallas shortly before he died. His battles w/ drugs and booze were well covered. That night off of Forest Lane in Dallas is one I'll always have a great appreciation.

Now, back to the good stuff... I've been buying all the stuff I've ever owned (thats worth replacing) on ebay for next to nothing used. On average, its like a couple bucks a cd. I've also filled alot of holes, on stuff I wanted to dive deaper into. For example, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Joy Division, Jackson Brown, and tons of other stuff.
Short story long, I grabbed iggys "lust for life" cd.
I never knew it was a David Bowie collaboration!!!!
The cd is worth a listen from start to finish, but I wont lay that on you. But here is one worthwhile cut.

35 Years ago today, I was a disappointed little metal head in high school... Clifford Burton, original bass player for metalica died.
Guess about a year prior I saw Metallica open for Ozzy at the Ft Worth convention center. Had no idea what metallica was about before that night. They blew the doors off that place. I was like, not quite sure wtf that was, but WOW!

He went on to front a local band called yeah, yeah, yeah (had to change name due to naming rights thing) but anyway, he shreds like that as well in his yyy & solo stuff. Really cool guy.

Time for a string change. Here is my favorite how-to. Edit: The only caution I'd add to his video, I only do one string at a time (starting w/ the low E) i dont know if in the long run it maters, but imsho, the less stress I put on the bridge in one sitting, the better) YMMV
But the tip about having the tuner at a 45 degree in relation to the neck, is very helpful to me, when restringing.

Came into office to put something away, got cord wrapped around foot w/out noticing, walked away.
Now I have a "like new" headset, with two lengths of cord where the mute & volume controls used to be located >:(
Repair not possible.
Was nice though.
Part of the issue was it was a USB connection, and I plugged it into the back of my keyboard, which instead of it being connected to the back of the PC (out of the way) the cord was draped onto the floor, in the foot path traffic area.
Foul language may or may not have been heard from next door neighbors.

Finally got a new headset... 8)
Got 2 actually, so I have a backup
Have much more faith in this design surviving my clumsy self.
It does have USB, as its primary plug-in, but also has a rca jack that plugs into the volume/mute switch.
So, "in theory" - it will take one heck of a disaster to rip wires from their leads.
I am also going to find some 1/4" shrink wrap, and re-enforce the area where the wire goes into the headset, because thats where I normally ruin my PC headphones.
But yeah, ordered two this time. . . .
