Title: Effective Watercooling On the Cheep.
Post by: butt on May 09, 2010, 01:15:55 PM
I wont be able to transfer everyones posts, but will post pictures of build process as time allows.

From old forum:

About what price could I gather used parts on ebay, to build a cooler that would handle both the CPU and GPU?

I love my PC, but it sounds like a single prop plane when I fire it up. Think I'd prefer the external radiator. Would like to revup the compy a bit, but want it cooled a bit better first.

Here is the case I got the mobo tray & drive bay out of. Got it from newegg for $25 + free ship.

OK. Seeing that I am transfering this thread from the old forum, I am going to combine the wood PC build w/ the desk thread.

The wood PC case was built to go into the open bay just right of the knee space of the desk. You note that the PC trim around the drive bays, front/side vents & side access panel match the desk design.

The PC will be mounted to 22" full extension drawer guides to slide out of the desk.  Easy access to the rear of the PC!

Here is some pics of the desk build. Adding these to show both sides of the project.

Heres the project starting to come together.

I've yanked my old desk, and started the instilation:

What a mess!!!

Out with the old, in with the new:

Heres the desk with the new drawer fronts and side pannels:

Had to sand a few paint runs, hence the bare spots:

Well, I see I never updated this thread from the old site :)

I'll get some pics of the finished product when I get the cooling loop reinstalled, and get everything put back together.

Heres the case front again till then:
