I'm not going to make a huge deal out of this, because the media has already done MORE than enough in that area. But I thought I'd at least put up a thread and drop these videos here. Even if you don't care, it's important to remember, I think.
Some of the saddest videos you'll ever watch. 9/11 victims remembering their lost loved ones. Very moving.

I'll always remember 10 years ago today... I got pulled out of class and brought home. I watched the towers fall, not live, but close enough. No one should ever forget what heroes and citizens died that day. RIP.

I was in school too but it was Catholic school so they kept us from knowing what was happening. But it was eerie because the teachers all knew and we could all tell something was up. I was only 11 though at the time. Then I remember going home after school and just sitting there watching the news in total silence. There was just nothing to say.
But I never felt anger or anything toward any specific people. I mean, I never thought "We outta ge those muslims." Because do you all remember right after? There was just a sudden onslaught of hate crimes. It was ridiculous.
That's my memory of it though. Just so jolting that there weren't even words for it.

I had just moved to Paris and we were home from school. we had gotten the tv or anything hooked up yet so we didn't find out till my dad got a call from the embassy. he sat us down around the table and told us. the next day there was armed security and all sorts of barriers outside our school.
It was a really weird feeling because the last thing we did before leaving the us for paris was to take a family vacation to new york. i remember visiting the towers and standing outside looking up at them and thinking how big they were. It was a very strange feeling to see them gone.

It's always good to bring back memories...I was driving back from work if my memory serves correct...heard it on the radio...people were pulling off of the motorway to stop and listen to the news as it broke...like you state, there simply weren't the words to describe such an act...
