Flash your Bios. Check what Mobo you have then go download the Bios from somewhere, put it on a flash drive, and flash it. That should do it.

Dont mess w/ your bios. if you dont have problems with it now, you soon will.
I've never seen/heard of a bios "going bad"... People fucking it up trying to update it? yes, all the time... But needing to flash it? No. Flashing a bios is for updating your bios in the event of an update from the motherboard manafacture.
Send tarsier a PM, before you do anything.

"If you build it they will come"
If the problem is the hard drives aren't recognized the first thing I would do is replace the ide/sata cables. Second thing I would do is try another hard drive. Hope that helps.

If life hands you lemons, ask for Tequila and salt
Well, if more than one hard drives are suddenly not recognized, look for the common denominator. Are they one the same rail on the molex? If so, are they both getting power? With the machine on for a couple minutes, do they feel warm? Try using molexes from a different rail. If they get power, try different sata cables, altho that is odd that both would not be recognized simultaneously.
Next isolate if the problem is the southbridge, by moving the sata cables to different sata ports on the motherboard. Any love? If not, mobo needs RMA. You can try BIOS flash, won't hurt since you'll likely RMA anyway, just pay very close attention to the bios update steps.
Next test the hard drives, if you have a SATA to USB adapter (something like
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812156017
) and check to see if the hard drives are recognized and work.
Conversely, since you have another PC, you can plug the drives into your PC, does your PC see them (shutdown the PC first)?
It's possible possible the power supply rippled and wacked the hard drives, but I doubt it.
