...when you and your significant other are going to be watching TV, and she will pop this question 'Why don't you watch a movie with me?' and you will have no choice but to be subject to a scary phrase for most men: Romantic Comedy.
Generally, most women know better than to put on Sex In The City and expect us to stay in the room, but not all get it. So we had a little converstaion amongst ourselves at work regarding the forced Romantic Comedy scenario: essentially, if you're stuck watching a Romantic Comedy, which one would it be. Of the following 5 movies, which would you pick?

1. What Women Want (Mel Gibson)
2. Just Friends (Ryan Reynolds)
3. Just Married (Ashton Kutcher)
4. The Princess Bride (Cary Elwes)
5. Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Mila Kunis)

BTW if you know others or better ones, please let me know, as the RC shows up at least once a month for me!

In no particular order, my beatdowns are as follows.

When Harry met Sally

Sleepless in Seattlle

You've got mail

While you were sleeping

I am sure there are more, but those are stopdowns for her. I've sat through them all at least once, so I am off the hook for the re-runs. The funny thing about the ladies is a unique ability to forget something as soon as they see it. My gal could probably have anyone of the above movies on a continual loop and it would "fresh" each time it restarted.

Misc. TV garbage:
Real housewives of (fill in the blank)
keeping up with the kardashians
Lost (yay its effing over!)
M.A.S.H. re-runs

Well...I personally, don't mind most romantic comedies. Some of the ones mentioned above, I thought were good, some not good. Fortunately, my wife likes the action flicks more than the romance. The more explosions and bullets flyin' the better. :D (she has a thing for Jason Statham) We have a rather extensive collection of the ones we really like, of all genres, and watch them more than regular TV. I like the Mash re-runs, in moderation, but, for the most part, think TV sucks, anymore. My wife watches more "home shows" than anything else.  ::) Plus, we do the netflix thing and get about 2 new movies a week. That way we don't take a chance on paying $15-$20 for something that looks good, but isn't so great after all. Last night we watched the newest Mel Gibson flick, "The edge of darkness"? which was pretty good, not his best, but worth a watch. Now we're starting to get the movies we really like, and don't mind seeing again and again, on bluray. Alot of the older ones are pretty cheap. We just picked up The Terminator for $10 on bluray.
