With all the "AR hoopla" going on of late, seems I've been giving thought to my firearm situation. Have put the ar15 stripped lower on the back burner untill one comes available (hopefully later this week) and give a little thought to my handguns.
One local FFL holder I talked to said he had ar15 stripped lowers, but the the asking price was WAY TOO HIGH... In my desperation, I got to thinking about my Glock model 22, and thought "I could trade my Glock for that" lol. Well, I let that idea pass, but
still thinking about a trade/sale
, and seriously considering this as an eventual replacement.
Taurus PT709 Slim - A Best Buy in Subcompact 9mms!
I've got a Taurus PT92, and am very happy with the brand. When I first got it mid 90's, I did have to send it back to have an adjustment made to fix a FTE (failure to eject) problem. Its been a fantastic gun since.
While I appreciate all the simplicity and reliability the Glock brings with it, its far too big for a concealed carry (especially in the summer - thin clothing). I am happy w/ the PT92, and dont see the need for two "large frame" pistols. This Taurus PT709 Slim, looks pretty good to me.

Would be curious if a longer barrel could be put on it?
Any firsthand suggestions for a CC? No kel tec's please

I have a Sig P226 and Ruger LR9(9mm) that I use for the range and a Ruger LCR 9 (357 mag) that I use for a carry gun.
The LCR hugs your body and is very light with a thin profile. It's a great concealed wep.
I've carried the LR9 (which is a great wep)but don't like the idea of the striker being cocked all the time.
Ruger also has the LC9 which is a smaller version of the LR9. My daughter has one and likes it.

Kahr cw9. On my very short list of "next purchases". Right after I build my Rem 700 in .308
The Kahr shoots decent, has good sights, and chambers a great round considering the size of the gun.
You didn't want to hear keltec, but I carry a Ruger LCP .380 in the summer. It's about as small as you can go. Sights suck, but not too hard to get decent with it inside 15 yards. I'd rather not try my chances shooting through a heavy winter coat with a .380 though.
I had a glock 26 that I traded in on my g17. It was too thick to carry comfortably without printing really bad.
