Anyone ever played this one?
We stopped by 1/2 price books today, and I looked through the software section. They had 5-6 "sealed/new" copies for $6 ea. With 20% off for the labor day weekend, I thought wth, and grabbed one. $4.80 final price, lol.
Looks like it has a MP, and wondered if anyone else had it, and if it was worth the patchs' I've got to find/install...

Update/Review:
Well. It was a patch 'o rama. There were 4 patches, 3 big 1 small. I did not do any homework on if there was a "BF2142 like" order of patch install. I just installed them in sequence one after the other. Mine was slow to load between missions, and got the "not responding" deal a handful of times. I am betting its similar to 2142 in patches. Where one mistep durring patching can cause end user headaches
I played some of the single player last night on the easy level. Not tried the multiplayer. The game is well worth the $4.80 I spent! Worth every penny, lol. I kid, I am just happy I found a good deal.
The game is "pretty good". I'd say the graphics are better than 2142, but not up to the uber standard of todays releases. Which stands to reason keeping in mind the timeline of release.
BF2142 - 2006
F/L FOW - 2008
BF-BC2 - 2010
As with most fps single player mission sets, it has its fair share of hokie machismo, but thats ok. The storyline/set up is pretty good. World is running out of oil, black outs and bread lines back at home, and WW3 is cranking up over the final major oil reserve. Russia and China have teamed up against the "good guys". It does not have the futuristic stuff of 2142, but does have some "gadgets" available for use. Nothing over the top though (at least so far
).
The main thing I've noticed is everybody has on heavy body armor, and headshots are recomended, if not a necessity. But that actually is not a bad habbit to get into I suppose.
The box shows a "cobra like" gunship, but I have not got that far yet. The tanks are pretty fun, and theres a rocket firing light armor hummer/apc hybrid that packs a good punch.

weapon of choice: MY BARE HANDS
I had a friend that was excited about this game when it first came out.
He played it a bit had lots of fun then got board with it and then decided it was not worth it. So i never purchased it.
Idk he plays WoW now so his opinion probably doesn't count anymore lol.

Been having a hell of a time getting it loaded (again)
With the freezes I was getting, figured I'd not patched it correctly. Now I've opened up a major can 'o worms. Although I saved my single player info on reinstall, its gone.
Well, guess the BF series isnt the only pita out there.
