If life hands you lemons, ask for Tequila and salt
Now before everyone goes questioning my sexuality, I just wanted to get a macbook to see what the hype was about. I wound up getting a used one of eBay, and I gotta re-install the OS as when they installed the system (or upgraded) they did not use the journalled filesystem option, which I need enabled so I can install Windows 7 on the Macbook (just for principle!)
The hardware portion of replacing a drive looks straightforward, what I would like to know is if I use time-machine to backup my shizzle, will it ALL come back to a new disk? I'd like to upgrade the disk, but there's some $ software (Adobe 5, Office 2008, Aperture 3, iLife 11) that I would lose with a complete reinstall (and I don't have that software as I bought use off ebay). Has anyone use time-machine before? Is there a better utility?

^Man...not even 24 hours...
Kinda mixed reviews on the Apple thing. Some things work nice, other things don't work at all. I'm used to right-clicking, so that is an adjustment, but the amount of software for the Mac point blank sucks. Another huge negative for me is that certain flash technologies aren't supported. I can't use NickJr.com, which brings tears from my 4-year old when he can't load his Backyardigans or Dora the Explorer. Shame on you Apple! Pay Adobe the friggin royalty; it's not like you're hurtin for cash!
And BTW regarding the fan boy thing, I think we're moving to the Android when our contract is up (to get the Verizon network). The iPhone really is nice, but the lack of flash support is just completely retarded. I realize flash is old and there are better technologies but it's kinda of like releasing a new car that doesn't use gas at all, just electric. The iPad is pretty impressive (especially games) but I just can't get past the lack of flash support; half the websites out there won't work! Hoping the Droid tablets are nice, but it's taken phones 4 years to catchup with the iPhone, hope it doesn't take tablets that long.

weapon of choice: MY BARE HANDS
Recently my parents have been using their iphones to watch Netflicks on, and the funny thing is the iphone keeps freezing up on the loading screen.
So I started calling the iphone the iphail.

Ya, the Macbook found its way back onto ebay (fortunately I sold it for more than I bought it for). Just not my bag. Too weird after getting used to Windows, in particular Windows 7, which I think Microsoft hit it out of the park. Went with a tried and true HP laptop instead. I guess I'm just not 'creative' enough for Apple. Plus I don't wear turtlenecks so that's a killer right there.

I use Apple's every day!!!!
I cry every time I have to use one. But unfortunately school's save time and money because you don't need Virus protector software for any apple computer out their or ""Less difficult to manage"".
I might actually try eating one of them!

I have been thinking about getting a macbook air and putting windows on it too. I have also been forced to use a Mac too and although they look nice using them is a complete nightmare.
