I got sidetracked and forgot to mention - the guitar paul simon was playing a few posts up

Its an Ovation, a regular guitar w/ a plastic back.

If I do seek out another guitar, I think I want one of those.

Makes that "jingle/jangle" you find in a 12 string, but in a six.

Found one on craigslist once, but the guy flaked out and never went to see it.

Time for a string change. Here is my favorite how-to. Edit: The only caution I'd add to his video, I only do one string at a time (starting w/ the low E) i dont know if in the long run it maters, but imsho, the less stress I put on the bridge in one sitting, the better) YMMV

But the tip about having the tuner at a 45 degree in relation to the neck, is very helpful to me, when restringing.
