Title: In Game crashes
Post by: Stoik on October 19, 2013, 07:26:11 AM
Hello guys,

I experienced severe in-game crashes in BF3 yesterday; Display freezed at no specific time during a game, couldn't come back on desktop by the Windows key as usual, and when I CTRL+ALT+DEL to reach it, Windows stated that the Bf3 executable file has stopped working.

This is the first time in about 18 months that I own the game that I come across such issue. And usualy we have warnings pinned on the Battlelog feed by the EA guys stating they're working on a solution to a problem, so I think this time it gets down to my single installation... or maybe not. Have you experienced similar game instability lately? Do you think a file corruption could occur if you're pwning Butt in a 1vs1 pistol fight just the day before? :P

Tried to restart the computer and ran a scandisk, it worked fine for the 10 minutes I tried it after doing this, but will try it for a good run tonight. If you have any suggestions, they are more than welcome.

Bye.

I'll get the random "disconnected from server" error message from time to time. But nothing out of the ordinary w/ a DICE game.

Not tooo many probs with BF3.

BF2142 an other story. We had lots of fixes on the forum..

I would try updating my GPU drivers and a update of PB.

If that does not work then re-install BF3.

Hope this helps.

It may be also the work they're actualy doing to prepare the infrastructure to the lauch of BF4.

The GPU drivers have been updated two weeks ago, when I tried the BF4 beta. I had no issues with the new drivers from day one.

Generaly, Punkbuster usually kick me out of a game, it's not causing it to crash. PB was a pain with BF2, but I never had a single issue with BF3.

Well, I shall see soon enough. I'll dust off the computer's innards just to make sure, like I do every autumn.

Thanks guys.

Bye.
